A Summer of New Bonding

A big shout out to all the team members present in Summers. Being one of the only full-time thirdies in the lab, it would have been impossible to survive these two months. You all were there for all the work and the lukkhas. Though the work was expected, the team bonding which entailed was quite better than the past few years. We spent many times together:


The First Lukkha: Trying out the new games like Psych and Contact, revealed the hidden personalities of Ashay and Mrigi. This was followed by a fiasco with the hide n seek. A little of Pictionary and finally ended with a perfect game of Mafia.



The Second Lukkha: This one is hardest to describe. It started as a horror movie night but turned out to be three back to back blunders. We had to play Pictionary for an hour to just get rid of the thoughts of those three movies. Ended this night with going to Maddu Mess with everyone swearing to never go there again.

Sameer Hill Visit: This is the best fun of Summers. Climbing the hill with the team, watching a full rainbow. Visiting a temple and the horror of climbing down those rusted stairs. Intro of a few freshies and scaling down all drenched and dirty. This was followed by an epic treat by Ranade and to-be-thirdies. Finally ending with everyone acting out movies in Dumb Charades.

Incredibles 2 Movie: A good movie outing with the team, it was entertaining (Patki was finally allowed to accompany). Special thanks to Mrigi and Shrita for Popcorns. And a friendly reminder to people to pay for the tickets

Apollo 13 Screening: Delayed a lot due to the appeal by Shreeya to watch the football match. Time well utilized by a few people by dancing on random Marathi numbers (we have got a lot of Marathi's in the team). Finally watching the greatest space movie (no mention of Armageddon needed, Ranade) along with fundae from me and Ranade.

SSTV Reception: Climbing atop the VMCC roof to get the best SSTV image till date (Comm people correct if wrong). Credit for this one goes to Puneet for the dedication.

This was by far the best and most memorable summers of my Insti Life. I have got no regrets of not going on an Intern, Thanks to you guys. Apart from the major happenings mentioned above we had MTL visits, Swimming Pool visits, going outside insti for eating chat, CHEA visits, every night dinner at H10 or H12 and some regular lukkhas in the lab. Overall a thank you to everyone involved.

 PS: Hemil, Yogesh and Prashant, your names are not anywhere above as you were the constants in most of these awesome events. Prashant, teri kahaniyan toh awesome thi. :D

Mangalyaan: 2.6 Martian Years and 5 Earth Years around the Red Planet

5 years ago, the Indian Space Research Organisation's Mangalyaan entered the Martian orbit, thus making India: the first country to achieve this feat in the first attempt. Mars Orbiter Mission (fondly known as MOM) was India's first interplanetary mission. With government approval in August 2012, launch in November 2013 and Mars Orbiter Insertion (MOI) in September 2014; the mission was completed in record time. A Year of Responsibility

A year has passed. A year has passed since we took responsibility. A year has passed since we were handed the baton to continue the work of our seniors. A year has passed since 26th March 2018. And we humans like to remember these anniversaries. We look back and analyse the past; listing the happy, sad, big, small, fond and haunting memories. So I am going down the memory lane to the year that passed since we became the Project Managers of the IIT Bombay Student Satellite Project. As quoted by Yash Sanghvi, our mentor, "Both Ranade and Anmol  have shown unquestionable dedication and commitment to the  project , excellent discipline and organizational skills, required foresight, very good interpersonal skills, and proactive efforts towards enhancing team bonding."
