Anecdotes of Life

A long corridor with locked doors all along the way. Doors to the rooms which were once open. Rooms where you could find a game of cards being played. IPL matches or newly discovered board games, these were the things that dominated this wing until a few weeks ago. Today, as I return for yet another year, I brood over all these empty rooms. So, here is an ode to the Gully Gang 76. Gully Gang 76 I spent the second half of the last semester enjoying to the fullest. Whether it be playing 350 or watching the IPL like never before.  Playing with Emiway Bantai and his Mom only to get clawed in the end. Discovering the wonders of Catan and Risk (named as it risks Friendships).  Spending each night at least half an hour to decide what to order and settling for the Crystal Dhabha along with the Rainbow Juice Center. A year has passed. A year has passed since we took responsibility. A year has passed since we were handed the baton to continue the work of our seniors. A year has passed since 26th March 2018. And we humans like to remember these anniversaries. We look back and analyse the past; listing the happy, sad, big, small, fond and haunting memories. So I am going down the memory lane to the year that passed since we became the Project Managers of the IIT Bombay Student Satellite Project. As quoted by Yash Sanghvi, our mentor, "Both Ranade and Anmol  have shown unquestionable dedication and commitment to the  project , excellent discipline and organizational skills, required foresight, very good interpersonal skills, and proactive efforts towards enhancing team bonding." A big shout out to all the team members present in Summers. Being one of the only full-time thirdies in the lab, it would have been impossible to survive these two months. You all were there for all the work and the lukkhas. Though the work was expected, the team bonding which entailed was quite better than the past few years. We spent many times together: The First Lukkha: Trying out the new games like Psych and Contact, revealed the hidden personaliti es of Ashay and Mrigi. This was followed by a fiasco with the hide n seek. A little of Pictionary and finally ended with a perfect game of Mafia. The Second Lukkha: This one is hardest to describe. It started as a horror movie night but turned out to be three back to back blunders. We had to play Pictionary for an hour to just get rid of the thoughts of those three movies. There are some days which get etched in your memory. From a year earlier multiple memories were made and now a year hence here I am reliving and relishing the days.  I became a member of the Student Satellite Project in March 2016. But on this day I realised that I didn't just join a project, I joined a Family, I joined a Journey, I too have joined the Dream shared by hundreds. On 26th September 2016, Pratham - IIT Bombay's First Student Satellite was launched, taking along the dream of hundreds of students have worked in the team and making hundreds more to dream bigger.  Being a freshman in a room full of seniors having worked in the team, the excitement of the launch was high. But that was it we new team members were merely excited, the seniors, on the other hand, had a glow in their eyes. Their child whom they built was going to space. As most of the seniors of the Pratham team graduate today, here I am to address my love for all of them and to thank them for all the fundae , love and the most memorable moments of the i nsti life so far. After first year Pratham has been the most integral part of my insti life, starting from the recruitment, the process of being part of it was slow but going to ISRO, being there for launch preparations and finally the Launch, Signal Receiving and the Tushar Treat made it official.
