Anecdotes of Life

A long corridor with locked doors all along the way. Doors to the rooms which were once open. Rooms where you could find a game of cards being played. IPL matches or newly discovered board games, these were the things that dominated this wing until a few weeks ago. Today, as I return for yet another year, I brood over all these empty rooms. So, here is an ode to the Gully Gang 76. Gully Gang 76 I spent the second half of the last semester enjoying to the fullest. Whether it be playing 350 or watching the IPL like never before.  Playing with Emiway Bantai and his Mom only to get clawed in the end. Discovering the wonders of Catan and Risk (named as it risks Friendships).  Spending each night at least half an hour to decide what to order and settling for the Crystal Dhabha along with the Rainbow Juice Center. Birthdays have different value for people. Some spend the weeks up to it planning the event. Some let it be one of 365 normal days of the year. A friend of mine once said, 'The day I was born for is more important than the day I am born on'. Though I cherish the thought, for me Birthday holds a special place in the calendar. This 21st year revolving around the sun has been an eventful one and to end it all the Birthday was full of surprise gifts and awesome wishes. From taking the lead of the Satellite team to meeting PM Modi on the career front. Making new friends in the juniors and getting stronger binds with the older friends on the emotional front. The year had its shares of ups and downs and looking back the ups seems to be much higher. The gifts and wishes received on this Birthday will hold a special place in my heart. There are so many uncertainties in life. Many crossroads, with many path choices to continue the journey, with multiple parameters to think upon. How does one reflect on these things all at once? One answer I came across is ' Experience '. As you advance in the levels of life, you gain wisdom. Similarly, each human around you has gained this expertise through his/her exposure to life. People say build on the wisdom, learn from other's experience. Talk and listen to people who have been on the same crossroads before. The problem is as follows: The people reached the same crossroads at a different time. Then each path from the junctions may lead to a different destination. New destinations may have opened up since then. Not only this, they would have covered a different journey to reach this crossing in life. Hence, they would have considered different parameters.
